Questioning one's perception of the human form and media with uncanny paintings and sculptures, Matt Meinhardt decontextualizes nostalgic iconography, such as Italian pulp covers, “Beach Home” art, and Halloween decor. The works introduce a new hyperreality where these images cease to refer to what we know and, in their new form, take on a dreamlike version of popular culture.
